Fifteen minutes north of downtown Milwaukee, you'll find seven miles of trails, a beach, prairies, forests, bluffs, ravines, and ponds in a 185-acre wildlife sanctuary. Visitors enjoy hiking in the warmer months, and snowshoeing and cross-country skiing during the winter. The Dorothy K. Vallier Environmental Learning Center building is an ecologically friendly structure, with solar power, geothermal wells for heating, and a visually impressive interior. Programs, classes, and workshops for children, adults and families are offered throughout the year. |
